Oregon ACEP Chapter

Advancing emergency care through engagement at the local level

State chapters are independently incorporated and advocate for the rights of physicians and their patients to ensure the delivery of the highest quality emergency care. The Oregon chapter provides a wide range of activities including educational meetings, networking and social events, leadership development, state legislative lobbying, public relations, and member services.

Annual Winter Academic Conference

Our annual Oregon ACEP Winter Conference is an inexpensive way to keep up with CME, and brings together engaging speakers from EM and other specialties, up-to-date evidenced based lectures, and skills labs. Attendance at the conference also comes with the added bonuses of networking with other Oregon Emergency Physicians and other medical professionals, spending time in the beautiful Bend area, and discounted skiing at Mt. Bachelor.  Your ACEP membership gives you a $150 discount on registration. See our Annual Winter Academic Conference page for more information.

Legislative Advocacy and Policy

Our chapter is also actively involved in lobbying our Oregon legislature on issues that directly affect you and your patients.  We have been involved in the creation of the state trauma system, passage of the prudent layperson standard, and guidelines for navigating the opioid crisis. We are currently working on bills to prevent violence against healthcare workers, measures to prevent gun violence, and many other timely issues.  Your membership adds strength to our ability to advocate for change.  See our Advocacy & Legislative Updates, and A Long History of Advocacy pages for more information about how we can make a difference together.
