Oregon ACEP Council Delegates Evangeline Sokol MD, John Moorhead MD, Michelle Shaw MD, Samuel Kim MD, and Michael McCaskill MD represented Oregon docs at the 2017 ACEP Council meeting. Resolutions voted on included increasing diversity in the College, expanding involvement and participation of EMRA members, and various strategies to address the opioid crisis.
Nationally, ACEP chapters are fighting battles with insurance companies (such as the highly publicized fight with Anthem over prudent-lay-person), out of network billing and expanding access to mental health care. These issues will be on the top of the list as we create our plan for the Legislative & Advocacy Conference (LAC) this Spring. If you are planning to attend LAC, please contact us so we can include you in our group strategizing.
If you would like to join, we will be meeting at 9am on the 9th of April at the Oregon Medical Association.
We are accepting submissions for our Jobs Board to be posted at our upcoming conference in Sunriver. This will reach over 100 board-certified EM physicians, and it’s FREE! Fill out the form below or email your print-ready job posting to firstname.lastname@example.org.
OCEP will hold its next Board Meeting on Monday, December 11th, 9 am at the Oregon Medical Association offices. The meeting is open to members, however certain agenda items may be board-only.
