OHSU EM Residency Alumni Group – Kickoff!

Please join us for happy hour on February 1 @ 5PM (Wednesday) at Cha Cha Cha Taqueria. We are hosting this as our inaugural get together for the Dr. Moorhead Alumni Fund. Information about this wonderful initiative is below and our wish is to have as many alumni as possible get involved! 

The people who have served as program directors of the OHSU EM residency (John Moorhead, Roy Magnusson, Hal Thomas, Pat Brunett, Lainie Yarris and Dave Jones) are all very proud of our (now over 400) residency graduates. You were all terrific residents and we admire your accomplishments as your careers have unfolded. We know you have continued interest in the program and each other. Many of us have informally maintained contact with each other through professional and/or personal activities.

The program maintains the highest reputation within the academic and practicing community and has a continuous record of attracting fantastic residency applicants.

I have long wanted to create an alumni “community”. An actual organization that is created to serve our training program and you, our alumni. We are very excited that with strong support from our chair, Dr. Mary Tanski, and OHSU, this has begun.

We are starting with communication and will look for opportunities to bring you together; to catch up with each other and advances in the program.

All residency and fellowship graduates are a part of this community.

This effort will take some resources. Our chair, Mary, and the Department will provide administrative support for the group. We are asking for some financial donations (tax-deductible), and many of the faculty, including the entire education section, have contributed.

We wish to hear your ideas about how this community can help you and the educational programs at the OHSU Department of Emergency Medicine. We look forward to your active participation and leadership in this effort.
